There is an old Swedish farming village located right in the middle of a crossroads where four roads intersect. This is where you will find Karnelund in Gislöv, in the Österlen area of southeast Sweden. The main building used to house a well-known country store, as well as a telegraph and petrol station. Later, it was converted into an antique store. In the 2000s, the building was rebuilt as a restaurant with Bed & Breakfast lodging. The old building has regained its former name. The owners discovered a way to create a “Krog & Rum” – an inn with rooms – exactly like they wanted it, and precisely how they thought guests would appreciate it.The inn’s menus are based on the finest ingredients, which are abundant in the Österlen area. You can dine on fresh vegetables of the spring and early summer, nettles, asparagus, new potatoes served with shellfish, fish and meat from local farms, and fruits supplied by local growers. The inn describes its food philosophy as “modern classic”.You could say that this hotel offers you accommodation that is a little more personal and distinctive. The rooms are just as fresh and meticulously decorated as those in any first-rate hotel. All these features are embodied in the “Krog & Rum” (Inn & Room) concept.
