Spread across a lovely 125 acre estate, Highbullen Hotel, Golf & Country Club enjoys an idyllic North Devon location between Dartmoor and Exmoor. The house itself is a Victorian Arts and Crafts manor house, full of charm and character with intriguing period details such as vaulted ceilings, antiques, magnificent French windows in the Drawing Room and a coal-chute into the understairs bar. The 12 rooms in the Manor House each have their own style, with bespoke colour schemes, fabrics and furniture to suit the individual atmosphere of each room. The Estate Rooms are contemporary country in design and benefit from the calm, sylvan surroundings of the Highbullen Estate, while remaining a short distance from all of the other facilities. All rooms are fully equipped with smart TVs, free Wi-Fi and 24 hour room service and many enjoy lovely views over the grounds. A range of self-catering options is also available. The fine dining Devon View restaurant is aptly named, for the windows encompass gorgeous vistas across the rolling hills down toward Mole Valley and Exmoor beyond. The ingredients are a showcase for Devon’s finest local ingredients: meat from Exmoor, seafood from Ilfracombe and game from nearby estates. The Cellars Bar and Restaurant is the more casual option, serving delicious gastro pub-style food throughout the day. The range of leisure facilities is stunning – two swimming pools (indoor and outdoor), steam, sauna, spa treatments (pre-booking necessary), Jacuzzi with bay windows, seven tennis courts, an 18-hole golf course, a private fishing river, croquet lawns, snooker rooms and a fully-equipped gym with regular exercise classes. The local area offers many attractions, from lovely Devon villages with country pubs, gardens such as RHS Rosemoor, plus the spectacular landscape of Exmoor and the North Devon coastline.
